Job Research

The first occupation that I chose was interior design. I like to work with people and this field is very client centered. An average interior designer works 40 hours an week and mostly in evenings and weekends. This career also demands a lot of travel which I like to do. Also this career has the freedom to have their own business or work for a company. Most interior designers go to school for interior architecture at art schools so they have a portfolio after they graduate. The national average interior designer makes $40,420 a year and about 32% are self employed.
The second occupation that I chose was restaurant cooks and chef. I love food so I feel that being a chef would play off my love of food well. I would enroll to a cooking academy and educate my self in a wide range of cuisines. I would earn about $29,520 and a head chef and as a low level cook I would make about $19,400 a year. I would be working about 40 hours a week and most likely be employed by a restaurant.
The third occupation that I chose was a make-up consultant. Make up is a interesting art medium. I could work with movie, photography and fashion, all things that I love. I would go to a beauty school to learn about different make-up and how to apply it. The average salary I would make would be $23,670 a year and I would be working about 40 hours a week. Also I would probably be self employed or work for a company like Macy’s
